Document measurements, observations, and results
Include calculations, graphs, tables, and figures
Note any changes to the original plan

Sign and date each completed entry if required
Have entries witnessed or approved if required
Reference sample IDs, file names, and instrument settings
Attach or reference raw data and supporting documents
Keep corrections visible and never erase original entries
Store the lab book securely
Back up digital records regularly
