Gather a safety pin, two small pieces of wire, and a low-voltage battery
Open the safety pin slightly so it can act as a movable contact
Attach one wire to each side of the circuit path
Position the safety pin so it can touch or separate the two contacts
Close the pin to complete the circuit
Open the pin to break the circuit
Keep the setup away from mains electricity and use only low-voltage power
