Find the voltage across the parallel circuit
Determine the resistance of each branch
Calculate the current in each branch using Ohm’s law: I = V / R
Add all branch currents together
Use the total current formula: Itotal = I1 + I2 + I3 + …
If total resistance is known, use: Itotal = V / Rtotal
For each branch, use the same voltage because parallel branches share voltage
Check units: current in amperes, voltage in volts, resistance in ohms
