Put on gloves
Remove any solid vomit with paper towels or a disposable scoop
Blot up excess liquid with clean paper towels
Sprinkle baking soda, cornstarch, or cat litter over the area
Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes
Vacuum or scoop up the powder
Mix warm water with a small amount of dish soap
Blot the stain with the soapy solution using a clean cloth
Blot with plain water to rinse
Blot dry with clean towels
Repeat as needed
Sprinkle baking soda again if odor remains
Let it dry completely
Vacuum the area after it dries
