How to Determine Zakat?

Ensure you are a Muslim, adult, sane, and financially eligible

Confirm that your wealth has reached the nisab threshold

Check that one lunar year has passed on zakatable wealth

Add up all zakatable assets

Include cash, gold, silver, business inventory, trade goods, and receivables likely to be collected

Subtract immediate liabilities and due debts

Calculate 2.5% of the remaining zakatable amount

Pay zakat to eligible recipients

If livestock, crops, or other special assets apply, use the specific zakat rules for those assets
