Blot up as much urine as possible with paper towels or a clean cloth
Press firmly and keep replacing towels until the area is mostly dry
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water
Lightly saturate the stained area with the vinegar solution
Blot again with clean towels
Sprinkle baking soda over the damp area
Let the baking soda sit until fully dry
Vacuum up the baking soda
If odor remains, apply an enzymatic pet stain cleaner
Follow the cleaner’s directions exactly
Let the carpet air dry completely
Repeat the process if needed
Avoid using steam or heat on the stain
Test any cleaning solution on a hidden carpet spot first
