Blot up as much urine as possible with paper towels or a clean cloth
Rinse the area with cold water and blot again
Use an enzymatic cleaner made for pet urine
Saturate the affected area according to the product instructions
Let the cleaner air-dry completely
Repeat the enzymatic treatment if the smell remains
For carpets, clean the padding underneath if needed
For washable fabrics, wash with enzyme detergent and air-dry
For hard floors, clean seams and grout thoroughly
Avoid ammonia-based cleaners
Use baking soda on dry surfaces to help absorb odor
Vacuum baking soda after several hours or overnight
Replace items that cannot be fully cleaned if odor persists
Keep the cat away from the area until it is fully dry
Find and address the cause of the urination to prevent repeat accidents
