Open the YouTube app or website
Start playing a video
On mobile, leave the YouTube app while the video is playing
On iPhone, make sure Picture in Picture is enabled in Settings
On Android, make sure Picture in Picture is enabled for YouTube in app settings
On desktop, use a browser that supports Picture in Picture
Right-click the video twice and select Picture in Picture
On supported devices, tap the Picture in Picture icon if available
Keep the video playing in the small floating window
Return to the YouTube app or use other apps while the video continues playing
