How to Make Movie Theater Popcorn at Home?

Use a heavy pot or popcorn maker with a lid

Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of coconut oil or refined peanut oil

Add 3 to 4 popcorn kernels to test the heat

Heat over medium-high until the test kernels pop

Add 1/2 cup popcorn kernels

Cover the pot and shake occasionally while popping

Remove from heat when popping slows to 2 to 3 seconds between pops

Melt 3 to 4 tablespoons of clarified butter or regular butter

Salt the popcorn generously with fine popcorn salt or very fine table salt

Toss the popcorn with the melted butter and salt

Add a little more salt if needed

Serve immediately
