Approach the rabbit slowly and calmly
Let the rabbit see and sniff your hand first
Place one hand under the chest, just behind the front legs
Support the hindquarters with your other hand
Lift the rabbit close to your body
Keep the rabbit’s body fully supported at all times
Hold the rabbit securely but gently
Never lift a rabbit by the ears, scruff, or legs
Avoid sudden movements or loud noises
Put the rabbit down gently when finished
