Find the iPhone IMEI in Settings > General > About, or dial *#06#
Go to your carrier’s IMEI check page or contact carrier support
Use Apple’s coverage check only for device status, not carrier lock status
Check Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock
If it says No SIM restrictions, the iPhone is unlocked
If it shows SIM locked or Carrier Lock, the iPhone is locked
Insert a SIM card from another carrier and test if it works
Use a reputable IMEI checker that specifically reports carrier lock status
Match the IMEI on the device, SIM tray, and box if available
Ask the original carrier to confirm unlock status using the IMEI
