Save the person’s phone number in your contacts
Open WhatsApp
Go to the Chats tab
Tap New Chat or the message icon
Search for the contact’s name
If the person appears, start a chat
If the person does not appear, refresh your contacts
Make sure WhatsApp has permission to access your contacts
Ask the person to use the same phone number on WhatsApp
Use WhatsApp search to find existing chats or groups
Check mutual groups if you are already in the same group
Use the invite link if the person shares one
