Measure the wall or opening
Mark the trim length
Set the trim on a miter saw
Cut straight ends at 90 degrees
Cut corner joints at 45 degrees
Use a miter box if needed
Cut slightly long for a tight fit
Test fit the trim before installing
Trim small amounts if necessary
Sand rough edges after cutting
