Scoop solid waste daily and place it in a sealed trash bag
Dispose of used litter in the regular household trash unless your local rules say otherwise
Never flush cat litter or cat feces down the toilet
Double-bag waste if needed to reduce odor and leaks
Clean the litter box regularly before adding fresh litter
Check your city or county waste guidelines for special disposal rules
Use a covered trash bin if possible
Wash hands after handling used litter or litter waste
Replace the entire litter contents according to the litter type and manufacturer instructions
If using biodegradable litter, still follow local disposal rules before composting or trashing it
