Gather a helium tank or air pump, balloon, and inflation nozzle
Locate the self-sealing valve on the balloon
Insert the nozzle into the valve opening
Inflate slowly with helium or air
Stop when the balloon is firm but not overfilled
Remove the nozzle carefully
Pinch the valve shut if needed
Tie a ribbon or string to the balloon tab if desired
