Open the Word document
Place the cursor where you want the PDF inserted
Go to the Insert tab
Click Object
Select Object from the dropdown
Choose Create from File
Click Browse
Select the PDF file
Click Insert
Choose Link to file if you want the PDF linked
Choose Display as icon if you want it shown as an icon
Click OK
Save the Word document
