Use a flexible measuring tape or ruler
Spread the hand flat with fingers extended and together
Measure from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the pinky across the widest span
Record the measurement in inches
Keep the hand relaxed and fully open
Measure the dominant hand if comparing for NFL scouting
Repeat the measurement for accuracy
Round to the nearest eighth of an inch if needed
