Choose a pot with drainage holes that is 1 to 2 inches larger than the current pot
Water the Monstera lightly a day before repotting
Prepare fresh, well-draining aroid potting mix
Remove the plant gently from its current pot
Loosen compacted roots and trim any dead or rotten roots
Place a layer of fresh soil in the new pot
Position the Monstera at the same depth it was previously growing
Fill in around the roots with potting mix
Press the soil lightly to remove air pockets
Water thoroughly after repotting
Add a stake or moss pole if needed for support
Place the plant in bright, indirect light
Avoid fertilizing for a few weeks after repotting
