Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears
Remove dead, damaged, or brown outer leaves first
Cut leaves close to the base without damaging the center
Trim only mature outer leaves, not the central new growth
Remove aloe pups if you want to control size or propagate them
Cut flower stalks after blooming if present
Avoid removing more than one-third of the plant at a time
Let cut areas dry and callus before watering
Discard unhealthy or rotting leaves
