Check the oil level
Add fresh fuel if needed
Make sure the fuel shutoff valve is open
Insert the ignition key
Set the choke to full
Set the throttle to fast
Press the primer bulb 2 to 3 times
If equipped, connect the electric starter cord
Pull the recoil starter handle or use the electric starter
After the engine starts, gradually move the choke to run
Let the engine warm up before operating
