Choose a pot with drainage holes
Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix
Water the aloe lightly a day or two before transplanting
Gently remove the aloe from its current pot
Loosen the roots carefully
Remove any dead, damaged, or rotting roots
Place a layer of soil in the new pot
Set the aloe at the same depth as before
Fill in around the roots with soil
Keep the crown above the soil line
Press the soil lightly to secure the plant
Do not water immediately after transplanting
Wait several days before watering
Place the plant in bright, indirect light
Resume normal watering only when the soil is completely dry
