Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears
Remove dead, damaged, or brown outer leaves first

Remove any flower stalk after it finishes blooming
Avoid cutting more than one-third of the plant at a time
Let cut areas dry and callus naturally
Water lightly after trimming and keep the plant in bright indirect light
Dispose of removed leaves or save healthy ones for propagation if needed
