Pick up the handset
Listen for the dial tone
Place your finger in the hole for the first digit
Rotate the dial clockwise until it stops
Remove your finger and let the dial return fully
Repeat for each digit in the phone number
Wait for the call to connect
Speak into the handset when the call is answered
Hang up the handset when finished
