Begin with praise of Allah

Make dua for yourself
Make dua for your family and others
Ask for forgiveness
Ask for both worldly and hereafter needs
Be persistent in your supplication
Have certainty that Allah hears you
End with blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad
Wipe your hands over your face if desired
