Place the chicken in a sealed, leak-proof bag
Submerge the bag in cold water
Change the water every 30 minutes
Use the microwave defrost setting if cooking immediately after
Separate pieces as they thaw to speed defrosting
Cook the chicken right after thawing
Never thaw chicken at room temperature
