How To Replace Windshield?

Park the vehicle on a flat surface and set the parking brake

Wear safety glasses and gloves

Remove windshield wipers, cowl trim, mirrors, sensors, and any trim around the glass

Cut through the old urethane adhesive with a windshield removal tool or wire

Lift out the old windshield carefully with assistance

Remove all remaining adhesive from the pinch weld, leaving a thin bonded layer if required by the adhesive manufacturer

Inspect the frame for rust, damage, or contamination and repair as needed

Clean the glass mounting area with the recommended cleaner

Apply primer to the pinch weld and new windshield if required

Install new clips, moldings, and setting blocks if needed

Apply a continuous bead of automotive windshield urethane to the pinch weld

Set the new windshield into place and align it properly

Press the windshield evenly to seat it

Reinstall trim, cowl, mirrors, sensors, and wipers

Follow the adhesive curing time before driving the vehicle

Check for leaks after curing and verify proper fitment
