Gather whole cloves and clean water
Measure 1 to 2 teaspoons of whole cloves
Add the cloves to 1 cup of water
Bring the water to a boil
Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes
Turn off the heat
Let the mixture steep until it cools
Strain out the cloves
Pour the clove water into a clean container
Store in the refrigerator if not using immediately
