Dry the area thoroughly after bathing or sweating
Use an over-the-counter antifungal cream, spray, or powder
Apply terbinafine, clotrimazole, or miconazole as directed on the package
Continue treatment for the full recommended time, even if symptoms improve
Wash towels, underwear, and workout clothes after each use
Avoid sharing towels, clothing, or athletic gear
Avoid tight clothing and prolonged moisture
Use a separate towel for the groin area
Treat athlete’s foot if present to prevent reinfection
Avoid scratching the area
See a doctor if symptoms are severe, spreading, recurrent, or not improving after 2 weeks
See a doctor if there is pain, pus, fever, or open sores
