Power off the computer
Unplug the power cable
Remove the battery if it is a laptop with a removable battery
Press and hold the power button for a few seconds
Open the computer case or laptop access panel
Ground yourself to discharge static electricity
Locate the RAM slots
Release the clips on the RAM slot
Align the RAM module with the slot notch
Insert the RAM firmly until it clicks into place
Make sure the clips lock onto the RAM
Reinstall the access panel or close the case
Reconnect the power
Turn on the computer
Check the system to confirm the RAM is recognized
