Open Messenger
Open the chat containing the message
Press and hold the message
Tap Remove or Delete
Select Remove for you or Unsend for everyone, if available
Confirm the action
To delete an entire conversation, go to the chat list
Press and hold the conversation
Tap Delete
Confirm the deletion
