Search the conversation name in Messenger
Review Message Requests and Spam folders
Check if the messages are still on another device
Download your Facebook data from Settings
Look in your email notifications for message previews
Ask the other person to resend the messages
Restore from a phone backup if you have one
Check linked devices or browser history for saved copies
Contact Facebook Support if the messages were removed by error
