Gather ingredients: ice cream, cake layers or cookies, whipped cream, frosting, and toppings
Soften the ice cream slightly until spreadable
Line a cake pan or springform pan with parchment paper
Place the first cake layer or cookie base in the pan
Spread a layer of ice cream evenly over the base
Freeze until firm
Add another cake layer if desired
Spread more ice cream on top
Freeze again until fully set
Remove the cake from the pan
Frost the outside with whipped cream or frosting
Add toppings such as sprinkles, chocolate, fruit, or crushed cookies
Freeze before serving
Slice with a warm knife and serve
