2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 to 1 1/2 cups water
Food coloring, optional
Mix flour, salt, and cream of tartar in a pot
Add oil and water
Add food coloring, if using
Stir over medium heat until the mixture thickens
Keep stirring until it forms a dough
Remove from heat
Let it cool slightly
Knead until smooth
Store in an airtight container
