If accepted, take bulbs to a household hazardous waste or special recycling drop-off site
Separate incandescent bulbs from LED, CFL, and fluorescent bulbs
Wrap broken bulbs in paper or cardboard before transport
Place intact bulbs in a box or container to prevent breakage
Do not put incandescent bulbs in glass recycling bins unless your local program specifically allows it
If no recycling option exists, dispose of them in regular trash according to local rules
Reuse working incandescent bulbs in approved fixtures until they burn out
