How To Treat A Boil At Home?

Wash your hands before and after touching the boil

Apply a warm, moist compress for 10 to 15 minutes, 3 to 4 times a day

Keep the area clean with mild soap and water

Do not squeeze, pop, or pick at the boil

Cover it with a clean, dry bandage or gauze

Change the bandage regularly and whenever it gets wet or dirty

Use over-the-counter pain relief if needed and if safe for you

Avoid shaving over the area

Wash towels, washcloths, and clothing after contact with the boil

Do not share personal items like razors, towels, or bedding

Seek medical care if the boil is very large, very painful, on the face, spine, or near the groin, or if you have fever, spreading redness, or repeated boils
