Use the formula: wavelength = speed of wave ÷ frequency
For light and other electromagnetic waves, use: wavelength = speed of light ÷ frequency
Write it as: λ = c / f
λ = wavelength
c = speed of light, about 3.0 × 10^8 m/s
f = frequency in hertz (Hz)
Make sure frequency is in Hz before calculating
Divide the wave speed by the frequency to get wavelength
The result is usually in meters
For other waves, use the appropriate wave speed instead of the speed of light
