Open Safari
Tap the Tabs button in the bottom-right corner

Tap Close All Tabs
To close a single tab, tap the Tabs button
Swipe left on the tab you want to close
Or tap the X on the tab
To close tabs in Chrome, tap the Tabs icon
Swipe away the tab or tap the X
To close tabs in Firefox, tap the Tabs button
Swipe the tab away or tap the close button
