Follow the full treatment exactly if a clinician prescribes it
Avoid alcohol and drugs if they interfere with getting care
Seek urgent care immediately for severe pain, fever, rash, sores, discharge, testicle pain, pelvic pain, or pregnancy
If privacy is the issue, use a confidential sexual health clinic, telehealth, or public health clinic
If you think you were exposed to HIV, get emergency care right away for post-exposure prophylaxis within 72 hours
