Wash the skin with lukewarm water and mild soap as soon as possible
Wash all clothing, shoes, gloves, and tools that may have touched the plant
Avoid scratching or rubbing the rash
Apply cool compresses for 15 to 20 minutes at a time
Take oatmeal baths or use colloidal oatmeal
Use calamine lotion or zinc oxide lotion
Apply 1% hydrocortisone cream as directed on the label
Take an oral antihistamine for itching if appropriate
Keep fingernails short and clean
Use loose, breathable clothing
Seek medical care if the rash is severe, widespread, on the face or genitals, or if there is swelling, pus, fever, or trouble breathing
