How To Help Baby Crawl?

Give plenty of supervised tummy time every day

Place toys just out of reach to encourage movement

Get down on the floor and model crawling

Use a rolled towel under the chest for support during tummy time

Place hands and knees gently in crawling position for short practice

Encourage reaching, shifting weight, and rocking on hands and knees

Put interesting objects slightly to one side to promote turning and scooting

Use a blanket or mat with good traction for practice

Reduce time in swings, seats, and bouncers

Let the baby spend time barefoot or in non-slip socks

Offer praise and encouragement during attempts

Make sure the baby has enough floor time each day

Talk to a pediatrician if the baby shows no progress or seems weak or stiff
