Burp your baby during and after feedings
Take a break during feeding and let your baby pause to swallow
Feed smaller amounts more slowly
Hold your baby upright for 15–30 minutes after feeding
Gently rock or hold your baby upright to encourage relaxation
Offer a pacifier if you use one
Ensure proper latch and reduce air swallowing during bottle or breastfeeding
If bottle-feeding, check nipple flow (not too fast) and keep the bottle angled to minimize air intake
If breastfeeding, try different positions to reduce swallowing air
Let hiccups pass if your baby seems comfortable
Contact your pediatrician if hiccups last more than 24 hours, happen very frequently, or your baby seems uncomfortable, has breathing trouble, vomiting, poor feeding, or poor weight gain
