How To Make An Apple Pie?

Gather 2 pie crusts, 6 to 8 apples, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 2 tablespoons butter, and 1 egg

Preheat the oven to 425°F

Peel, core, and slice the apples

Toss the apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice

Place one pie crust in a pie dish

Fill the crust with the apple mixture

Dot the filling with butter

Cover with the second pie crust

Trim and crimp the edges

Cut a few slits in the top crust

Brush the top with beaten egg if desired

Bake for 15 minutes

Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes more until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling

Cool before slicing
