How To Make California Rolls?

Gather sushi rice, rice vinegar, sugar, salt, nori, imitation crab or crab, avocado, cucumber, sesame seeds, and bamboo sushi mat

Cook the sushi rice

Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt

Fold the vinegar mixture into the cooked rice and let it cool

Cut avocado and cucumber into thin strips

Slice crab or imitation crab into strips

Place a sheet of nori on the bamboo mat

Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori

Sprinkle sesame seeds over the rice

Flip the nori so the rice side is down

Place crab, avocado, and cucumber along one edge of the nori

Roll tightly with the bamboo mat

Seal the edge with a little water

Slice the roll into pieces with a sharp wet knife

Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi
