How To Make Sushi Rolls?

Gather sushi rice, nori sheets, rice vinegar, sugar, salt, fillings, bamboo rolling mat, sharp knife, and water

Rinse the rice until the water runs clear

Cook the rice according to package instructions

Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt

Fold the vinegar mixture into the cooked rice

Let the rice cool to room temperature

Place a nori sheet shiny side down on the bamboo mat

Wet your hands

Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori

Leave a small border uncovered at the top edge

Add fillings in a line near the bottom edge

Lift the mat and roll the sushi tightly away from you

Press gently as you roll to shape it

Seal the edge with a little water

Use a sharp wet knife to slice the roll into pieces

Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger
