Use a standard 52-card deck
Shuffle the deck
Deal all cards evenly to all players face down
Keep your cards in a face-down pile
Each player flips the top card at the same time
The player with the higher card takes both cards and puts them at the bottom of their pile
Card ranking from highest to lowest is usually A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2
If two cards are the same rank, a war starts
For a war, each tied player places three cards face down
Then each tied player places one card face up
The highest face-up card wins all the cards in the war
If there is another tie, repeat the war process
Keep playing until one player has all the cards
If a player runs out of cards during a war, they lose
The game can take a long time to finish
