Check the lock’s model and look for a factory reset or opening instructions on the label or manual
Try common default codes (if applicable): 000, 123, 1111, 9999
If you know the correct code, set the dials to that code and turn the shackle release knob/lever to open
If you don’t know the code, determine whether it is a dial lock or a keypad lock
For a dial lock, align the dials to the target code and pull/turn the shackle release mechanism
For a keypad lock, enter the code, then press the confirm/open button
If you can’t find the code, contact the lock manufacturer with the model number for authorized access or reset steps
If the lock is on property you own or are authorized to access, contact a licensed locksmith for entry or safe removal
Do not force the lock; stop if you notice damage or misalignment
If the lock supports reset, set a new code only after successfully opening per the manufacturer’s instructions
