How To Organize Closet?

Empty the closet completely

Sort items into keep, donate, discard, and relocate bins

Check each item for condition, fit, and frequency of use

Group remaining items by category (shirts, pants, dresses, shoes, etc.)

Further group within categories by color and/or style

Decide a layout based on height and accessibility (most-used at eye level)

Use the top shelf for off-season items and rarely used items

Use mid-level shelves and hanging space for everyday clothing

Use lower shelves/drawers for shoes, accessories, and folded items

Hang bulky items (coats, jackets) on dedicated space

Fold and stack knits and casual wear to prevent stretching

Use drawer dividers for socks, underwear, and small items

Add shelf dividers or bins for belts, scarves, and accessories

Store small items in clear labeled containers or drawer organizers

Use a shoe rack or stackable shoe boxes to keep pairs together

Add a hanging organizer for bags, hats, or accessories

Install hooks for bags, robes, or frequently used items

Keep items you grab most often in the easiest-to-reach spots

Use matching hangers for a uniform look and better space use

Leave space between hanging items to reduce wrinkling and improve visibility

Label bins and drawers for quick retrieval and restocking

Create a “seasonal swap” system for off-season clothing

Maintain a weekly or monthly reset routine to return items to their spots

Reassess storage every few months and repeat sorting as needed
