Shift the chain to the smallest rear cog if needed
Open the brake quick-release if your bike has one
Release the wheel from the frame or fork
Deflate the tyre completely
Use tyre levers to unseat one side of the tyre bead
Pull the inner tube out of the tyre
Inspect the tyre and rim for glass, thorns, or damage
If replacing the tyre, remove the old tyre fully from the rim
Fit one side of the new tyre onto the rim
Insert the inner tube slightly inflated into the tyre
Place the valve through the valve hole in the rim
Tuck the tube evenly inside the tyre
Push the second tyre bead onto the rim by hand
Use tyre levers only if necessary and carefully
Check that the tube is not pinched between tyre and rim
Inflate the tyre slowly and check that the bead seats evenly
Inflate to the recommended pressure
Reinstall the wheel on the bike
Close the brake quick-release if opened
Spin the wheel and check for rubbing or wobble
