Rinse with cold water after blotting
Apply liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain
Gently rub the detergent into the fabric
Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes
Wash the clothing in the hottest water safe for the fabric
Check the stain before drying
Repeat the treatment if the stain remains
Use white vinegar for stubborn stains
Try acetone on non-delicate fabrics only
Test any cleaner on a hidden area first
Avoid using heat until the stain is fully removed
