Build a Nether portal frame with obsidian blocks in a rectangle that is 4 blocks tall and 2 blocks wide (minimum valid size).
Ensure the inside is empty (air) where the portal will form.
Light the portal using flint and steel on an obsidian block inside the frame.
Stand back and wait for the purple portal surface to appear.
Enter the portal to travel to the Nether.
